We in the Yin Lab welcome your support as we seek to inspire the next generation of cross-disciplinary thinkers, leaders, and educators. Here are some specific examples of how your donation can help:

Healthy snacks for our weekly “All Hands Yin Lab” meeting, where we share our research progress, critically assess the primary science and engineering literature, practice jargon-free writing and communication, and explore ways our actions can promote diversity, equity and inclusion.

New books for the Yin Lab lending library adjacent to our wet lab, where members of the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery are encouraged to borrow from our diverse collection spanning science, engineering, mathematics; history, philosophy, literature; art, music, and more.

Monthly laboratory supplies to study the emergence of molecular information (chemical origins of life) and track virus evolutionary dynamics (in cell cultures, rodent systems, and across human populations), and biological reagents (enzymes for molecular biology, monoclonal antibodies).

Monthly to annual costs for equipment maintenance: quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR), high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS), fluorescent microscopy and quantitative imaging.  Sequencing of virus and host RNA from the campus Biotechnology Center.

Annual stipends for research assistants (pursuing PhD) and salaries for the training of post-doctoral fellows.
